My dad told me to stop looking at my 401k every day
He said checking it constantly just makes you worry about noise, not the real plan. Anyone else have a simple rule that finally got them to stop stressing over the little ups and downs?

Totally get that. I finally just set a calendar reminder to check mine once a quarter.

That's actually a really smart way to handle it. I should probably do something similar instead of just forgetting for months. Makes it feel less like a chore.

Man, my uncle did the exact same thing with his stocks back in the day. He'd have the ticker running on his computer screen all day at work, driving himself nuts over every little dip. He finally just started checking it when he got his paper statement in the mail, which was like once a month. Said it was the only way he could keep his head straight and actually sleep at night. Kinda wild how just not looking can be the best plan sometimes.
