PSA: I saw a neighbor throw a full bag of trash into a public park bin last Tuesday.

It was clearly from their home, not a park picnic, and it overflowed the can. That feels wrong, like shifting a private cost onto the public space. Does anyone else draw a line on what's okay to dump in those bins?

Public bins are there for trash, period. If it fits, it gets tossed.

It's basically a small scale version of illegal dumping. They're using a public good as their personal trash service.

Used to see a full bin and just add my bag on top. Figured it was still trash going in a trash can. Then I watched a city crew spend twenty minutes picking up all the overflow that had blown into the street. They're not set up for that much. It really is just making your problem someone else's.
