My neighbor argued that taking the last parking spot on our crowded block is fair game if you see it first.

He said 'finders keepers' applies, even if someone else is clearly circling and waiting. That logic just feels wrong when you see their turn signal on.

Spotting a space doesn't mean you own it. That turn signal is the real claim.

Wow, I actually used to side with your neighbor... until I got stuck circling the block myself. Seeing that turn signal changes everything, like @mila_mitchell said. It's not just about who sees it first, it's about basic respect for someone who's already committed. Taking that spot just feels like stealing when they're right there waiting. That "finders keepers" stuff only works when no one else is clearly in line.

Yeah totally with you on that "finders keepers" thing. I once had someone swoop in and take a spot I'd been waiting for with my blinker on for like a full minute... guess they thought I was just being polite or something. I stood there in my car wanting to yell but honestly probably would've just cried if I had to keep circling, lol.
