Chasing a ghost in a sound system led to a silly find

Spent hours tracing a fault, sure it was a bad part. The volume knob was just stuck on mute the whole time. Do you check the easy stuff first?

Honestly, I was the same way until last year. I always figured it was just bad luck when my phone died super fast, but then I started noticing everyone around me complaining about the same thing. My roommate, my mom, even random people at coffee shops were all saying their batteries were trash after like a year. Saw a whole thread on reddit about it too, thousands of replies. Really opened my eyes to how widespread it is, lol.
