Can we talk about how characters always get away with doing their own IVs?
I work nights as a nurse and I gag every time I see a character in a show just stab a needle into their arm like it's nothing. You ever try to hit a vein on yourself with shaky hands? It's nearly impossible and they act like it's a paper cut. Last week I had to start an IV on a tough patient and it took me three tries with good light. In real life you'd be in the ER with an infection or a collapsed vein within an hour. Has anyone here ever actually tried to do something medical on themselves after seeing it on TV?

My cousin tried to start her own IV after watching too much Grey's Anatomy and ended up calling me from the bathroom floor with blood running down her arm, so yeah, it's not as easy as they make it look.

Bet you'd be surprised how many people successfully do their own IVs at home for legitimate medical reasons. My neighbor has been doing daily saline infusions for a year with zero issues, and I've seen videos of people teaching themselves in a weekend. Shows might dramatize the "stab and go" part, but with a little practice and the right equipment it's not as impossible as you're making it sound.
