TIL that using a drywall lift for ceiling panels saves way more time than I thought

I fought using a lift for years. Always thought it was faster to just prop panels up with a T-brace and muscle them into place. Last week I had to do a 12x12 ceiling by myself and borrowed my buddy's lift. Got the whole ceiling hung in about 3 hours instead of the usual 6. The lift paid for itself in one job. Anyone else have a tool they were stubborn about using?

Got the lift myself after swearing I'd never spend the money on one. Rented one for a job similar to yours and it was a game changer for my back (seriously, I'm not getting any younger). The best part was being able to work alone without fighting the panel or worrying about it slipping. Now I actually look forward to ceiling jobs instead of dreading them. It's one of those tools you wonder how you ever lived without once you try it.

Second that on the back thing, once you hit a certain age those overhead jobs just ain't worth the pain anymore. Drywall lift pays for itself in chiropractor bills you don't have to pay.

Did you rent it first to see if you'd actually use it enough?
