PSA: Skipping the detail check on a beam drawing cost us a week
I was wrapping up drawings for a steel structure last month and felt pressed to meet a deadline. To save time, I sent the files to the shop without my usual double-check on all connection details. They fabricated a key beam based on my missing note about a welded plate. When it arrived on site, it didn't fit, and the whole job had to stop. I had to reissue the drawing and wait for a new part, which set us back seven days. Now, I never skip my final walk-through of every note and dimension, no matter how rushed I am. It's a basic habit that prevents big problems. What routines do you have to catch errors before drawings leave your desk?

You called it a "final walk-through" for drawings, which is a solid phrase. I've always heard that more for sites, with drawings getting a "check" or "review.

Call it whatever gets the team to actually look close. Honestly, you catch way more mistakes when people treat it like a real walkthrough.
