Just realized how much my old hand lettering kit is worth now

I was cleaning out my garage in Tacoma last week and found my old drafting kit from trade school. The lettering guide and pens are still in the box. I looked them up online and a full set like mine is going for over $200 on some sites. My instructor back in 2005 said to keep the tools, even the analog ones. It made me wonder what other old drafting gear people have held onto that's now collectible. Anyone have a similar story with their old tools?

Isn't it wild how stuff we used for work just becomes retro? I see it with old kitchen gadgets and woodworking tools too. People want the real, physical thing from before everything went digital. It's not just about the money, it's like holding a piece of that old way of doing things. Your instructor was smart to tell you to keep it, lol. That kit is a little time capsule now.
