I spent almost two full days trying to get a custom title block to work in a new template for a client in Boise.

My old boss in Phoenix told me we lost a whole project week once to title block issues. I read a forum post last year where @johnson.lee mentioned the same thing about dynamic fields breaking across different computers, and it totally makes sense. The software just isn't built to handle that kind of shared file change well. I've had to do the same fix, just making everything static text in the end. It's frustrating because the dynamic stuff seems like it should save time, but it always ends up wasting more. Sometimes you just have to go with the boring, simple way to make it actually work for everyone.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I finally had to scrap the dynamic fields and just use plain text attributes for the client info. The linking kept breaking every time someone saved the template from a different workstation. Spent a whole afternoon just making sure the title block was on the right layer and the plot settings would stick. Sometimes the simple fix is the only one that works.
