A client in Dallas once told me my CAD details were 'too perfect' to build from

We were reviewing shop drawings for a custom steel staircase, and he pointed at a complex weld symbol I'd spent hours on. He said, 'Your model shows the ideal, but my guy in the field needs to know what's good enough.' It happened right there in his trailer office. Made me rethink how much detail is actually helpful versus just showing off. Anyone else had a client push back on over-detailing?

A perfect drawing is a buildable drawing in my book. The field guys I work with would rather have too much info than have to guess.

My models are basically unbuildable fan art.

My buddy 3D printed a Warhammer titan that collapsed under its own weight. Sometimes the coolest ideas just don't hold together.
