My worst week of repairs started with a busted pipe under the kitchen sink.
It was last Tuesday. The old copper line finally gave out. Water everywhere. I shut it off and went to the hardware store for a new PEX line and crimp rings. Got home, cut the old pipe out. Then I saw the shutoff valve was stuck. Had to call the city to turn the water off at the street. That took two hours. While I waited, I found mold on the back of the cabinet. So now I'm dealing with that too. The whole job took three days and cost about $200 in parts and bleach. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a huge project like that?

My last plumbing job was just a quick valve swap.

My buddy tried to replace a leaky bathroom faucet last month. That turned into finding rotten subfloor under the vanity. Then he had to cut out a section of floor and replace it before he could even think about the new faucet. What should have been an hour turned into a whole weekend project and a trip back to the store for plywood and sealant. It's crazy how one small problem can show you ten more you didn't know about.
