My kid's wobbly chair went from junk to his favorite spot after I spent an hour with some wood glue and clamps.
I found the joint had completely separated, so I cleaned off the old glue, applied Titebond II, clamped it for a full day, and now it's solid as a rock, which makes me wonder if anyone has a good method for fixing those plastic chair bases that always crack?

Wood glue does work wonders, but a whole day in clamps seems like overkill. Titebond sets up pretty fast. For those plastic bases, maybe it's not worth the fight. Anthony's right, they just fail again. Sometimes a chair has just lived its life.

Nice! Wood glue and clamps are magic. I fixed a stool leg the same way, and it's held for years now. For plastic bases, I've had zero luck, they always re-crack.

Ever tried melting a zip tie into the crack with a soldering iron? It's a messy fix, but it bonds the plastic back together.
