Dropped $80 on a heat gun from Harbor Freight and it caught fire in 10 minutes
I was trying to strip old paint off some window trim last Saturday and figured I'd save cash with the cheap option. The thing started smoking after barely using it, then a little flame popped out the back. I unplugged it fast but now I'm out the money and have to borrow my neighbor's instead. Has anyone else had luck with the higher priced heat guns from a hardware store?

And they say you get what you pay for, huh? Guess Harbor Freight took that literally with the whole "heat" part. Did it at least come with a free fire extinguisher coupon or was that an extra fee? Next time maybe just set your $80 on fire directly and skip the middleman, probably get the same result. Borrowing the neighbor's sounds like a solid plan, but hope they don't charge rent for using it.
