FINALLY got my side panel window cut after 3 tries this past Sunday
I've been messing around with this old Corsair case for like a year now. Last month I bought a dremel from Harbor Freight and tried cutting a window in the side panel. First attempt I cracked the whole thing right down the middle. Second try I got a wobbly cut that looked like a drunk did it. This past Sunday I finally took my time, drew out the lines with a sharpie, and used a cutting guide I made from a straight edge. Came out clean enough that I even got the acrylic screwed in without any gaps. Anyone else have a hard time getting straight cuts on steel panels?

Yeah the "drunk did it" cut is pretty much a rite of passage. What worked for me was putting masking tape down first and drawing the line on that, then going slow with the dremel on a medium speed setting. Helps keep the cut straight and the tape stops the steel from chattering.

Honestly my buddy tried this same thing on a Fractal case and his first cut looked like a snake had a seizure on the side panel. He ended up just buying a pre-cut panel online out of pure frustration.
