TIL you can fix a sticking door by rubbing a bar of soap on the hinges

My bedroom door has been dragging on the frame for like 8 months. I was about to buy a plane and shave down the whole edge when I saw a comment suggesting plain old soap on the hinge pins. Three minutes and a bar of Dial later the door swings free. Has anyone else found a random household item that actually saved a project?

Oh, neat. I used ketchup to clean a copper pot once and it worked.

Ketchup on copper is wild. I used toothpaste to buff out a scratch on my watch.
