I tried to fix a leaky faucet with a cheap kit from the dollar store and then with a proper replacement cartridge.
Honestly, the dollar store kit just made a huge mess and the drip came back in a day. The $12 Moen cartridge from the hardware store fixed it for good in about ten minutes. Anyone else have a plumbing fix that went from bad to worse before you got it right?

Oh man, the dollar store plumbing aisle is basically a "how to flood your kitchen" starter kit.

Ever try to fix a toilet flapper? I used a universal one that never sealed right. Had to go back for the exact brand model, total pain.
