My local coffee shop's Instagram went from 200 to 1,000 followers in 8 weeks

I manage their socials and we were just posting random photos before. I started a weekly 'Meet the Roaster' story series and a Tuesday trivia question with a free coffee prize. The trivia alone gets about 50 replies each week. Has anyone else seen a big jump from doing regular interactive stuff like this?

Our brewery's mug club signup doubled after we did a weekly beer trivia night.

Wow, doubling signups from trivia? That's wild, but is a mug club really that big of a deal?

I mean it kind of depends on how the mug club works, you know? The free fills after a certain number of visits can really lock in repeat customers, plus it gives people a reason to bring friends who aren't in it yet. idk maybe it's just me but the social pressure of "I gotta get my stamp" is surprisingly strong.
