Hot take: Two-week stops keep my work sharp, not slow travel

Most nomads talk about settling in for months. They say it builds routine and cuts costs. I did that in Lisbon last year. Felt stuck after week three. My output dropped hard. Now I switch spots every fourteen days. Forces me to plan each work block. No time to get lazy. I see more and work better under pressure.

Actually disagree hard on this one. Driving for uber eats for 4 hours straight is absolutely work, same as editing youtube videos all night. Just because it's not in an office doesn't mean it isn't exhausting and demanding. That stuff takes real mental energy and effort. Calling it anything less is just disrespectful to the grind.

The word "work" covers a lot of ground. It's not just about being tired. A surgeon in an operating room and a parent up all night with a sick kid are both doing real work, just different kinds. The key part is applying focused effort toward a necessary task, whether it's delivering food or writing code. Dismissing that effort kind of misses the point of what work actually is.
