Fellow nomad in Bangkok told me my coworking setup was costing me clients
I was working from a hostel lobby for 6 months thinking it was fine, but this guy at Hubba Coworking pointed out my background noise made me sound unprofessional on calls. He said I sounded like I was in a food court, so I switched to a cheap sound panel and a better mic for $40 total. Has anyone else had to change their whole work setup after getting honest feedback from another nomad?

Man that is tough feedback to hear but honestly it sounds like a blessing in disguise. I had a similar wake up call when a client told me my audio was "tinny" during a call and I had no idea it was that bad. Spent months thinking it was fine. A cheap sound panel and a decent mic for 40 bucks is a total game changer though. Now you probably sound way more pro than half the people in fancy offices. Sometimes the honest strangers are the ones who help us level up the most.

Wait, $40? For a decent mic AND a sound panel? That's wild man. I spent like $80 on just a basic USB mic and thought I was getting a steal.
