After 3 months in Lisbon, I switched from a coworking space to a library pass and saved $200 a month. The quiet was a bonus.

Saved $200 a month" is the real headline here. I guess coworking spaces are just paying a lot for fancy coffee and the sound of someone else's keyboard clacking. Libraries figured out the quiet office thing a few hundred years ago and just let you have it for free. My wallet feels that pain.

My friend paid for a fancy spot downtown for months... then realized the library had better chairs and free printing. He felt pretty silly about the whole thing.

Read an article about how coworking spaces bank on the social aspect, but most remote workers just want a quiet desk. The library nails that basic need without the monthly fee. Seems like a lot of people are catching on to the old school option.
