Pushed a $500 retargeting budget into Facebook groups and got zero sales

After reading a case study online I moved my whole campaign into niche Facebook groups for 3 weeks, got plenty of comments and likes but not one click through from our target customers in Austin, so has anyone actually turned group engagement into real revenue or am I just chasing the wrong audience here?
