Poured $1,200 into Facebook Ads and got 2 fake leads
I set up a targeted campaign for my local bakery in Austin last month, using video ads of fresh croissants coming out of the oven. After burning through the whole budget, I only got 2 leads that both turned out to be bots with fake phone numbers. How do you guys filter out bot traffic before you even launch a campaign?

and honestly this is just how the whole internet feels now. like you cant trust anything anymore. i see the same thing with those facebook marketplace posts where half the replies are scammers or bots. its gotten so bad that when i see a real looking offer i almost dont believe it. for your bakery i wish i had a solid answer but it seems like the platforms are okay with letting this happen as long as they get their cut.

...and that's exactly why i've started using this janky method where i make them physically come into the store before i do anything. like i put a small sign in the window saying "mention the croissant video for a free sample" then i just watch who actually walks in and says it. it sounds stupid but it filters out like 90% of the bots. plus the real people who show up end up buying stuff anyway so it works out. one lady came in for her free sample and ended up ordering a whole birthday cake for her kid. totally random but yeah.
