Google Ads bid strategy that beat my manual bids in Phoenix

I spent 4 months manually adjusting bids and getting maybe one lead a week. Switched to maximize conversions with a $35 daily budget and set a target CPA of $40, got 7 leads in the first 10 days. Has anyone else seen better results letting the algorithm do the heavy lifting for smaller budgets?

7 leads in 10 days" is wild. Algorithms are dumb but also kinda smarter than us sometimes. I'm switching back to auto ASAP.
