A vendor in Austin flipped my whole AB testing approach

Talked to a landing page optimization vendor at a meetup last Tuesday, and he said most of my tests were too weak to matter. He showed me their client data, over 200 tests, and only ones with under 2 seconds load time plus clear CTAs moved conversion past 3%. That hit different because I'd been tweaking copy for months while ignoring speed. Has anyone else found infrastructure issues beat content changes in their A/B tests?

That vendor's got a solid point honestly. The math on load time is pretty brutal once you see it laid out, people bail way faster than most folks realize. I had a similar wakeup call when I stripped a bunch of heavy scripts off a client's page and conversion jumped without touching a single headline. Copy tweaks feel productive but they're often polishing a door that's already locked, speed is the key that actually opens it.
