Had to pick between Google Ads and Facebook Ads for my local shop...
I run a small bakery in Austin and I had to choose between Google Ads and Facebook Ads for my monthly budget of $500. I went with Facebook since my customers are mostly women in their 30s who share photos of pastries. After 3 months of running those ads, I got maybe 15 new customers total and it felt kind of flat. Then I switched half my budget to Google Ads targeting 'custom cakes Austin' and my orders jumped by 40% in just 2 weeks. The difference was that people on Google were already looking for what I sell, while on Facebook they were just scrolling. Has anyone else found that Google Ads works better for local businesses with a specific product?

YES, the "people were already looking for what I sell" part is SO true. I have a little coffee shop and same thing happened with me. Facebook felt like I was just yelling into the void, but Google Ads brought in folks literally typing "coffee near me" and they showed up same day. It’s a total game changer for local shops with something specific.

Man that's gotta feel good when people actually show up right after clicking. Nothing like seeing real results from your ad spend instead of just watching those Facebook likes roll in.
