Spent 30 minutes routing a single fan cable and it finally clicked why my last build ran hot

I was messing with this Phanteks case last night, trying to tuck the rear exhaust fan cable behind the motherboard tray. 3 years ago I would have just stuffed it anywhere. Back then my Ryzen 3700X hit 85C under load. Last week I redid the whole loop, took 30 minutes just on that one cable, and now it maxes at 72C. Airflow is not about having big fans, it's about not blocking the path. Has anyone else found that one cable reroute dropped temps like 10 degrees?

My old Cooler Master H500 case taught me the hard way. I used to just zip tie everything to the nearest spot and wonder why my GPU was always cooking. Then I spent 20 minutes routing the 24 pin cable flat against the backplate instead of letting it loop near the front intake fans. Dropped my GPU temps by 8C, just from that one change. Completely changed how I look at cable management now.
