My electrician buddy's airflow comment made me redo my whole build

I finished a new rig last night in my basement workshop in Akron and was pretty proud of the cable routing. Then my buddy Dave, who does commercial electrical work, looked at it for like 2 seconds and said 'you're choking the front intake, those fans are just recycling hot air off the GPU shroud.' I laughed it off but then I felt the glass panel and it was way warmer than my old case. He showed me how the 3 front fans were pulling against each other because I had them set to different RPM curves in the same fan hub. Took me an hour to rewire them to a single splitter and flip the bottom one to intake instead of exhaust. Temps dropped 11 degrees on the CPU under load. Has anyone else had an electrician or trades guy spot something you completely missed, even though you build PCs all the time?

Wait "recycling hot air off the GPU shroud"? That's actually kinda genius when you think about it. I've built 4 rigs and never once considered how the fans might be fighting each other on the same hub like that.
