The grocery store scale lied to me for 20 years
Found out at the self-checkout in Portland that the produce scale rounds up to the nearest 10th of a pound. I bought 2.14 lbs of apples and paid for 2.2, so I checked my receipt for the last month and I've been overcharged about $3.50 total. Anyone else ever catch the register doing this?

...and honestly that's just theft with extra steps. Like, I get rounding to the nearest cent for cash, but rounding weight up when it's going on a card anyway? That's pure profit for them. $3.50 might not sound like much but over 20 years that's like a whole Thanksgiving dinner they took from you. I'd be digging through my old receipts too, probably would've noticed way sooner if I wasn't always in a rush.
