Showerthought: From paper sketches to digital drafts, what a shift!

I started in construction when everything was on paper! Learning software felt like a huge hurdle at first. I practiced every day and got the hang of it. Now, I can't imagine planning without it. The change has been really cool!

My grocery list is a perfect example of this. I have a notes app full of lists, but I still scribble items on a scrap of paper right before I run to the store. It feels like we're all living in that middle ground now, using whatever tool gets the simple job done fastest. Some old methods just have a stubborn kind of usefulness that tech hasn't totally wiped out yet. You see it with books, calendars, and even these quick sketches.

Remember paper isn't totally gone. It still has a place. I do all my big plans digital now. But I still grab a notepad for quick site markups or a rough sketch for the crew. Some things are just faster with a pen. The mix works.

Quick site markups" on paper? Man, I'm shocked that still happens out there. Everything's on tablets and phones at my jobs now. Just feels like a dead practice to me.
