Blew $800 on a software subscription I barely used for 6 months

I signed up for this big fancy project management tool for construction last January. It promised to track everything from permits to punch lists all in one place. But honestly, I ended up spending more time learning the stupid thing than getting actual work done. My crew hated it too, they said it was too clunky on their phones. After 6 months I canceled it, lost around $800 total, and went back to using a mix of Excel and a free Kanban board. Has anyone else fallen for a pricey tool that just didn't fit their team's workflow?

$800 is a tough pill to swallow, especially when the tool just gets in the way instead of helping. I've been there with a CRM that my guys flat out refused to use on site.

@charlesj46 yeah, it's a real bummer when the team just won't use something. What finally worked for me was getting my guys involved in picking the tool, they voted on a simpler option that actually felt like an upgrade to our spreadsheets. Taking that extra week to trial a few things with them saved us from throwing money at something nobody wanted to touch.
