Remember when we all used those cheap plastic groovers from the big box store? I switched to a solid brass one from a real tool supplier about three years back and it's night and day.

My old boss at the cabinet shop swore by brass tools. He said the extra weight does half the work for you, and he was right. I finally got one for home projects and it just feels solid in your hand. Those plastic ones always felt like they would snap on a tough piece of trim.

Yeah that "extra weight does half the work" thing @the_amy is so true. Reminds me of my grandpa's old cast iron level. Thing must weigh ten pounds, but you set it on a shelf and it just stays put, no sliding around. My dad's new aluminum one is always tipping over if you look at it wrong. Some tools just need that heft.
