Unpopular opinion: I prefer the old way of dealing with computer issues face-to-face.

There was something about physically being there to troubleshoot that made people understand their machines better than any online guide ever could.

I mean, my old office used to have a guy drive 45 minutes just to tell me to restart my computer. That whole "being there" thing meant wasting half a day waiting. Now with a quick video call and screen share, I can fix the issue in ten minutes while they watch and actually learn the steps. Idk, staring over someone's shoulder just made most people feel rushed and dumb. Having a guide they can pause and rewatch on their own time seems way better for actually learning.

Yeah, I hate when people hover like that. @val_henderson's point about learning from a video call makes so much more sense.

Man, @mason283, I learned more from one awkward in-person fix than a dozen videos, mostly about my own shame.
