Can we talk about that moment you realize a simple fix is actually a huge problem?
I was working on a laptop from a local cafe yesterday, just a simple fan cleaning. Popped the bottom cover off and saw the battery was swollen, pressing right against the trackpad. I had to stop everything, put it in a metal bin, and tell the owner they needed a new battery immediately. It's crazy how a routine job can turn into a safety issue in two seconds. Has anyone else had a simple repair suddenly become a major red flag?

Swollen batteries are no joke, get that thing out of the house now.

Seriously, it's a real fire risk. I had one in an old laptop that I left in a drawer for too long, and it started pushing the trackpad up. The gas inside is flammable, and if the pouch ruptures, it can spark. Don't just toss it in the trash either, most big electronics stores have a drop-off for batteries like that.
