The moment I REALIZED my patch panel was a bottleneck

I used to just plug everything into the patch panel however it landed for 2 years. Then I finally sat down last week and color-coded it by floor and now I can trace a line from the switch to the office in 10 seconds instead of digging through a rat's nest.

Oh wait, TWO YEARS of just blindly plugging stuff in? Bro, I can't even imagine that level of chaos! I color coded my panel last month and used little numbered labels from a label maker, it took me like 6 hours but now I feel like a real IT pro instead of a hobo with a cable. That moment when you pull one cable and the whole nest doesn't come with it is pure gold!

Haha yeah dude I read somewhere that something like 80% of network downtime is from bad cabling. Made me actually clean up my mess behind my desk instead of just kicking it under the rack. I used those little velcro strips instead of zip ties too, way easier when you gotta swap something out.
