The cable guy in Des Moines cost my restaurant a full dinner rush when he unplugged the switch to 'tidy up'
He said the cables looked messy so he yanked the uplink to reroute them, killed every ticket printer and card reader for 40 minutes, and now I want to know if other folks put physical locks or zip ties on their switch ports just to keep hands off.
Did he actually think he was helping, or did he just not want to look at the mess? Because there's a huge difference between a guy who means well and one who just does whatever without asking. What did you say to him after, and did his company even offer to cover the lost sales? Forty minutes of dead printers and card readers during a dinner rush is not a small thing.
