My old boss in Denver said Wi-Fi is just a fad for offices, and I still think about that lunch
Back in 2016 I sat in a Panera on 16th Street with my old boss Ray, who ran a 40 person MSP, and he laughed when I pitched wireless as the main setup for a new client. He wanted every desk hardwired with Cat6 because Wi-Fi was 'for phones and coffee shops.' I get the reliability argument, but acting like wired is the only serious choice in a 2000 square foot office feels like stubbornness dressed up as engineering. The part that stuck with me was him saying nobody would ever want to take a laptop into a meeting room, which aged like milk. Is anyone else still fighting this fight with older admins, or am I just picking battles I can't win?
