The comic book swap at the park isn't what it used to be
Back in the day, our town had a weekly comic book swap at the community park. It was just a bunch of fans trading issues and chatting about stories. Now, it's mostly people selling stuff online or through apps. Last weekend, I went and saw only a handful of us, mostly older folks. The kids these days seem more into digital comics or big conventions. It makes me miss the simple talks we had about favorite characters. What's the comic scene like where you are?

Man, I know exactly what you mean. Our local comic swap dried up a while ago too. We got a few people together and moved it to the library meeting room. Now we meet once a month, and it keeps the talk going. It's smaller, but better than nothing.

I saw a piece in the local paper here in Portland about our old comic swap spot. It said the last meet-up had only five people, down from fifty a decade ago. It's SAD how these things just fade away. But I heard from a buddy in Seattle that they still have a big group meeting at a coffee shop every week. Maybe it's about finding the right place to keep the spirit alive.

Isn't it just about who shows up? Five people who care beats fifty ghosts. Maybe the spot just needs a new home.
