Warning: that carbide end mill "deal" on eBay cost me 8 hours of setup time
Bought a 10-pack of "high quality" carbide end mills for $30 off eBay and spent an entire shift dialing in feeds and speeds because every single one was ground uneven. Has anyone else wasted a day fighting cheap tooling that just won't cut right?

every single one was ground uneven" - oh man, that's brutal. I mean, I've seen some bad QC from cheap eBay tooling before, but a whole 10-pack being off like that is next level. I've definitely burned a Saturday before trying to make a bargain end mill work, but never that many at once. At that point it's not even a deal, it's a trap. You basically paid $30 for 8 hours of your life plus shipping. I'd be tempted to just chuck them all in the scrap bin and call it a lesson learned. Hope you at least got a refund or something.

Bro, that's rough. You basically paid $30 for 8 hours of your life plus shipping. At that point it's not even a deal, it's a trap. I'd be tempted to just chuck them all in the scrap bin and call it a lesson learned. Hope you at least got a refund or something. At least my fiascos usually only wreck one or two parts before I figure it out. Sounds like you got the whole circus.
