I finally caved and started using workholding fixtures right after a job went sideways
Had a guy named Mike from the shop down the street stop by my place last month. He saw me struggling to clamp a weird aluminum part on the vice and just said 'you're fighting the machine, let the fixture do the work.' He actually stayed 20 minutes to show me how he builds his own soft jaws for tricky profiles. It stuck with me because the next day I tried it on a 50 piece run and cut my cycle time by almost 30%. Has anyone else had a random stranger's tip completely change how you approach a setup?
