Cleaning coolant filters weekly saved my pump. How often do you maintain yours?

I used to let filters go until they clogged, which burned out a pump. Now I clean them every Friday, and no more issues. Is weekly too often?

Wait, it actually burned out your whole pump? I've seen filters get nasty and cause flow problems, but killing the pump completely is next level. That must have been a seriously bad clog to do that kind of damage. Makes your weekly cleanings sound totally worth the hassle.

How old was that pump anyway? Sometimes they're already on their last legs and a bad clog just finishes them off. Still a nasty way to go though.

Weekly's been perfect for me. I started finding a little grit in the filter every time, which means it's working. That small chore definitely beats a dead pump.
