My solar panel install took 6 months longer than I planned

I started looking into putting panels on my roof back in March. Thought it would be a quick 2 month thing. But the city permit office had a backlog and then the utility company took forever to approve the grid connection. By the time everything was signed off and installed, it was October. I lost the whole summer of peak sun production. Has anyone else dealt with crazy delays on something simple like permits or inspections?

Maybe it's just me but the summer sun is overrated anyway with all that heat.

What's wrong with a little heat though? I get that some days are brutal, but thats why we have AC and swimming pools. The long evenings and fresh produce make it all worth it for me.
