My cousin swore I could power my whole shed with a $50 solar kit from Harbor Freight, and after a week of it barely charging my phone, I had to admit he was hilariously wrong.
Anyone got a real recommendation for a small off-grid setup that won't leave me in the dark, lol?

Honestly, the "power my whole shed" idea is where it goes off the rails. Those little kits are basically just for a light or a fan. For a real shed setup you need a proper panel, a decent battery like a 100ah deep cycle, and a charge controller. It costs more than fifty bucks but it actually works.
