Thought vanilla Doom was perfect until I tried Brutal Doom for the first time

I spent years thinking mods just broke the feel of classic games. Then my buddy forced me to try Brutal Doom on his rig last month. The way the weapons kick and the gibs fly actually made the game feel fresh again. Anyone else have a mod that completely changed how you see an old game?

Jumped into Brutal Doom after swearing off mods for years. What got me was how it forces you to rethink the levels, like those tight corridors you used to just spam rockets in now have way more chaos with the enviromental destruction. Makes you actually pay attention in a way the original never did.

Heard someone say the gore system actually changes how monsters behave which sounds insane.
