Bought a cheap framing nailer off Amazon, wasted $120

I needed a framing nailer for a shed build last month so I grabbed a no-name brand for $120. It jammed every 10 nails and the depth adjustment was useless. I spent more time fighting it than actually nailing. Anybody else learn the hard way that you gotta spend real money on nailers?

My buddy calls my cheap nailer habit "paying the stupid tax" and honestly he's not wrong. That thing would sink a nail sideways into the wood or just spit air at me like it was mocking my efforts. After about 45 minutes of cussing and prying jammed nails out with a screwdriver I just threw it in the trash and went back to swinging a hammer the old fashioned way. Sometimes you gotta let your wallet learn the lesson your pride already knows.

I used to be the guy who thought "a tool is a tool" and would grab the cheapest option every time. But after watching a buddy's cheap framing nailer literally explode a nail through some plywood, yeah, I get it now. You ever try to explain to your wife why there's a hole in the garage wall and a bent nail sticking out of it?

Man I got burned the exact same way with a $100 brad nailer from some random brand on eBay. Ended up borrowing my buddy's Paslode and it was night and day, finally just saved up for a refurbished one for not that much more and it actually works.
