Trying to fix a scheduling spreadsheet for my team turned into a three day project...
I needed to make a simple schedule for my crew of eight at the hardware store, but the formulas kept breaking when I tried to add a new column for weekend shifts. It took me three whole days of messing with it before I finally got it to work right. Has anyone else had a simple work task blow up like that, and how do you keep it from happening again?

Google Sheets templates saved me after a similar mess. Now I test any formula change in a copy first.

Watched my buddy at work wipe out a whole project budget sheet by editing the main formula live. He spent three hours rebuilding it from a printed copy he luckily had on his desk. That copy-first rule is now gospel in his whole department. They even have a test sheet called "The Playground" for messing around. Hard lessons make the best policies.
