Switched from cold applying to networking at local meetups and landed 3 interviews in 2 weeks vs zero in 6 months of applying online which approach actually works in this economy?
I spent half a year firing off resumes on LinkedIn with nothing to show for it, then went to two tech meetups in Portland and got three callbacks pretty much immediately - so is the old school handshake still king or am I just bad at writing cover letters lol?

Got a buddy who went to a startup meetup in Austin, bought a guy a beer, and ended up with a backend dev offer two weeks later. He never even sent a resume, just talked about his side project building a local food delivery app. The whole thing started because he complained about the beer selection and the other guy agreed.
