My month in Thailand showed me corporate life is a trap

I was stuck in a boring job until I took a break to travel across Southeast Asia. Seeing how people build lives with less made me question why I was chasing promotions that felt empty. Do you think taking time off to travel can help your career grow?

Switch rails" is a good way to put it, @perry.sandra. Sometimes the growth is realizing you're on the wrong train to begin with.

Man, that hits home... I spent years just putting my head down and driving, thinking the next load was what mattered. Then you get somewhere totally different and it's like your brain finally has room to ask "why am I doing this?" That time away lets you see the tracks you're on from a distance, and sometimes you realize you wanna switch rails entirely. It doesn't always look like "career growth" on a resume, but figuring out what actually matters to you is way bigger.

Could the real growth be how travel changes how you see your career path?
