My annual review left me with more questions than answers

The feedback was all broad strokes. Nothing specific to work on. How do I progress like this?

Vague reviews are the worst because they don't help anyone get better. You're stuck trying to decode what your boss really meant. Might as well ask for a performance review written in plain English next time.

Ask your boss to spell out what you need to work on. General comments are useless if you want to get better. You have to make them give you real targets to hit.
