Watched a new guy glue a face frame on backwards last Tuesday

So we got this new kid in the shop last week, fresh out of that trade school over in Springfield. Everything was going fine until Tuesday when I walk over and see him clamping a face frame to the back of the cabinet. I mean he had it all glued up and ready to nail, looking proud of himself. I just stood there for a minute trying to figure out what I was looking at. He said 'I thought the pretty side goes in, like a closet.' We had to use a heat gun and a putty knife to get it off without wrecking the plywood. Took us an extra hour to fix his mess. Has anyone else dealt with a rookie making a mistake that obvious?

That trade school in Springfield must have skipped the basic orientation class. Did he at least own up to it when you pointed out the mistake, or did he try to argue his case first? I'm curious how he reacted when he saw that pretty plywood edge glued to the back of the cabinet.

fiona502, I'm not sure this is the kind of mistake that needs a whole discussion about trade schools and character. Sometimes people just have a blank moment, it's not that serious.
