Watch out for those cheap drawer slide deals online

I bought a set of 50 soft-close slides from a new website for a big kitchen job, thinking I saved about $200. Half of them failed within a month, making the drawers sag and stick. I had to buy a whole new set from my regular supplier and reinstall everything, which cost me over $400 in parts and a full day of labor. Has anyone else been burned by a deal that was too good to be true?

Wait, isn't the load rating on the box just a marketing thing sometimes? @hugo_ellis, I've seen cheap ones print a high number that doesn't mean much. You really gotta check the actual build, like the ball bearing feel.

Yeah, learned that the hard way too. Now I only buy slides with a proper load rating printed on the box, not just the cheap generic ones. If the specs look vague or the price is way under everyone else, it's just not worth the call back.
